Lions and Tigers and Bears Oh My!

This past weekend had us taking off to Omaha after work Friday to meet up with the Wellnitz side of the fam for a family get together. Since Jessie and Chris moved to Colorado we wanted to make sure we had something on the calendar that would get us all together!

Ruthie did great on the 4 hour road trip there, kept happy by stickers, books, snacks and Daniel Tiger on the I-Pad (life saver!)

The main adventure was heading to the zoo Saturday and we filled in the rest of the few precious hours together with in depth discussions and debates (it's what we do) swimming at the hotel water park, hotel hallway Ruthie chasing, yummy food and a walk along the pretty river walk. Highlights of the zoo were the aquarium, silverback gorillas, baby monkey, white alligator, seals and polar bear! Ruthie also got her first carousel ride.

Ruthie Eats- Lunch Box Fun

I've been having so much fun with Ruthie's YumBox lunch box- basically a kiddie bento box. It challenges me to pack her a healthy variety of fun food the couple of days a week she heads to daycare. More 'Ruthie Eats' posts to come.

Ruthie Says

When asked to say the prayer before a meal (hands folded, eyes half closed)

  "Dear God...for food...AMEN!" 

After dressing up in the toy closet at Grandma & Grandpa's house (men's dress hat on with giant Mardi Gras beads around her neck)

  "I'm a happy snowman!"

When asked what she dreamed about last night

  "Mommy" (usually it's puppy, I'm moving up in the world baby!)
